Fletcher Men

It is always an adventure when Papa comes to visit. Here is a prime example: Abram covered with chocolate and Papa getting ready to add to the excitement with a good tickling.

Surprise Visitors

Last Saturday we had a surprise visit from Papaw and GramT. The grandparents are learning to come in pairs so that there are enough laps to go around. Abram was excited to see Papaw and told him all about "this" (his new favorite word) and Katie just wanted to sleep.

Super Abram

With one mighty leap, a squeal of delight and a little help from Mommy, he turns from a simple one -year old to Super Abram.
Abram discovered that a blanket makes a great cape. He pulled the blanket off of his bed and carried it to Mommy. She wrapped it around him and tucked it in his pajamas and off he went, running back and forth across the living room floor. Until now, blankets were something that Abram used to cover up and then proceed to say "Night, night" and lay down wherever he landed. He usually didn't actually go "night, night" but sure did have fun covering up with the blanket or just dragging it around. Now blankets have become much more fun and will provide many more adventures for Super Abram.

Yes, She Does Wear Pink...

Many of you are wondering if Mommy's dislike of the Pepto Bismol pink color will keep Katie from wearing any pink at all. Well, the wondering can be over...here she is in a cute pink outfit that even has pink roses on it. Don't anyone get excited and send tons of pink stuff, right now she mostly wears pajamas handed down from her brother and Mommy still isn't a big fan of pink.

Tunnel Vision

Hey, what's that down there? It looks familiar.

It's getting closer.

Yep, it's a drool monster.

Another sleeper in the family

Katie is fitting into the Fletcher family great. So far, she is a great sleeper. On most nights she is only waking up once, eating and going right back to sleep. I guess she, like Abram, got those great sleeping genes. She can also sleep through just about anything, including her brother running up and down the hall screaming, rocking her bassinet, and anything else he can think of. And Katie just sleeps on! We had Katie's first doctor's appointment and she is already back up to her birth weight. So I guess Mommy is giving her something good to eat. She is a very content baby. Happy to eat and sleep. She is also content to sit in her bouncy seat or swing and watch the world go by. Don't worry she is getting plenty of snuggle time from Mommy and Daddy!!

Mommy's Helper

Abram likes to help every chance he gets. Mommy enjoys having the little helping hand and only hopes it continues.

Brothers and Sisters

Abram is doing a great job getting used to having Katie around. He likes to watch her as she sleeps. He also likes to give her hugs and kisses, which Mommy and Daddy have to supervise very closely. We are all learning to be a family of four, with all the challenges it brings.

And then there were four!!

I'd like to introduce to everyone the newest addition to the Fletcher family, Katie Ann Fletcher. Our beautiful little girl was born on March 5th at 10:52 in the morning. She was a very healthy 8 lbs 13 oz and 20 inches long. Her hair is a short dirty blonde. Right now Katie, Mommy and I are still in the hospital trying to get some rest and recover. Abram has already had his first meeting but wasn't quite sure what to think. He seemed more concerned with Mommy's IV. We are thinking it's not a bad thing that he ignored her. After all, Katie gets 9 free months of wailing on Abram to make up for all head butts, body slams, and various other attacks while Katie was still in the womb. He's pretty tough so we think he can take it.

Drop and give me drool

Abram found my whistle stash. And while he couldn't get them to make the same sounds that I did, he nevertheless enjoyed trying. At one point he had 3 on him.

He already has the coach's stare down. But Dean doesn't seem to mind.

He then decided to get into a whistle blowing contest. Abram also thought his was always broken and wanted to switch with me. And yes, I do have some nice hair going on.

Sleeping is not a Spectator Sport!

Mommy and Daddy have discovered that Abram is a champion sleeper. Once he is asleep, not much will wake him up. We must say that he comes by this naturally. He comes from two long lines of good sleepers. Prime example of this ability to sleep. After a long day of playing at the babysitters, Abram fell asleep on the way home. We were suppose to go to dinner with family so we tried to move him, he woke up long enough to scream and lay in the floor wanting to go back to sleep. We made a change of plans, he went back to sleep, Mommy and Daddy had something from the freezer. As I am writing this it is almost 10:00 and he is still asleep and will probably sleep through the night. Mommy and Daddy are not tiptoeing around and the cats keep running up and down the hallway, and yet Abram sleeps on!
