Precious

Thanks to Papaw and GramT, Katie has a very special teddy named Precious which she has already discovered. There have been many days when we go in to pick her up after a nap and she has rolled over to find her teddy. Then she will pull it over and chew on whatever she can get in her mouth.

A Walk in the Park

We took a walk in the park one evening. As you can see Katie had a great time riding and Abram used all his might to give her that great ride.

New Experiences

There have been several new things experienced by the Fletcher kids.
Katie is starting to try real food. So far she has tried rice cereal, oatmeal, bananas, and apple sauce. We think she likes them and plan to keep trying new things.
Abram is getting to be such a big boy. He sometimes thinks he is bigger than he really is and tries out more than he is ready for, always with Mommy or Daddy there to catch him. Here is a picture of him trying out the big swing. He really enjoyed it, just didn't quite have the balance right.

A Very Busy 4th of July

It is a bit behind in posting, but we had a very busy 4th of July. We were still in recovery mode form the great weekend with Dave, Vanessa, Lucas, Jay and Sunny. It was Abram's second but Katie's first. The entire day was spent mostly worrying how they would react to the fireworks. Well, that and eating. First off was a trip to Uncle Jerry's for lunch with the Fletcher clan.

Abram was way too excited to eat much of anything, much to the chagrin of his parents. We finally just stopped trying to fight it and let him run around and play. He had a little whiffle ball, a little chase the other kids, and some feed the fish to top things off. Katie spent her time showing off her great smile and catching some short naps.

We tried to crash some between lunch and fireworks. But again, we worried about Abram and Katie reacting to the loud fireworks.

It's been a long tradition to watch the fireworks from Jackson Park on my Dad's back porch. They hit right above the treeline and we cram on the porch while making jokes about Dad needing to cut down some limbs. Katie hung out with Mandi and Abram stayed in my lap for the entire show. I kept waiting for a big show from them full of tears and screaming to go inside. Instead I got this:

What can I say, my kids are sleepers. They come by it honest. And yes, the fireworks were still going off when they zonked out.

Hope everyone else had a safe and happy 4th!

Stats Update

Yesterday we had the check-ups for Abram and Katie. The bad part was this, 1 appointment, 2 kids, 7 shots. They were not pleased. Katie got mad during the shots themselves, Abram was just upset we made him lay down. At any rate both checked out healthy and growing right on track. The doctor called both of them "lean."

Katie's stats:
Length- 28 inches (95th%)
Weight - 16.8 pounds (50th%)
Head - 16.5 inches

Abram's stats:
Length - 35.5 inches (97th%)
Weight - 26.14 pounds (75th%)
Head - 19.75 inches

And here's something just because. My nephew recently got a set of real drums. We stopped by during the 4th of July (more pictures coming) and Abram went to town. This is in NO WAY a request for a set of drums for our house. But here's the video:

The Last Day with the Aja-Sigmons

On our last day with the Aja-Sigmons we ventured to the park. Abram and Lucas had a blast on the slides racing to see who could get to the bottom first. We took a walk by the river, making a stop on the bridge to throw some rocks (major excitement!). The boys were worn out after the excursion. Katie on the other hand fell asleep on the way and slept in the stroller for the whole adventure.

Special Guests, continued...

Some more images from our weekend with the Aja-Sigmons. Another old high school friend stopped by on Sunday, Jay and his girlfriend Sunny.

Fabulous Fletcher Chickens

Abram has discovered how to be a chicken and Katie has discovered the joy of chewing on a chicken. Abram is actually pretty good at the cluck and wing flap, while Katie gets upset when she drops the chicken that she is chewing on. In Katie's video, we stopped recording just a second too early because the next thing she did was cry when the chicken was suddenly not in her hands anymore. This is also a great example of what she does with anything that she can get her hands on...it goes straight to her mouth to get chewed on.

Special Guests

The Fletchers were so excited to welcome Daddy's high school friends back to Hendersonville for a few days visit. As you can see we had lots of fun and even had a few minutes to catch up. We took lots of pictures so we are putting them in a couple different slide shows. Enjoy!

Nothing deep, nothing profound, just the ongoing travels, trials and adventures of the Fletchers. Check out the bottom to see how fast time is flying for the newest Fletchers.
