Slip and Slide

Aunt Dot decided that Abram and Katie needed a Slip and Slide, so she got it for them.  So we took it to her house and hooked up the hose.  The kids slid a little but spent more time just splashing in the water and wondering around the big yard.
Aunt Dot helped them have races down the streams with clover heads.

Abram loved the racing and making them zoom,

Katie just liked pulling the flowers apart...

until she discovered a more willing audience with Grandma Reid.
Thank you Aunt Dot for another fun time!

Orange Factory

Here are a few more pictures from Florida.  I was trying to get up the video that we took of this exhibit but I can't get it to work, so you will have to use your imagination to put it into motion.
This exhibit was to show how an orange processing facility works.  The kids worked hard keeping the process moving.  I think they would have stayed here for hours if we would have let them.  Here is how it works.  There is a step missing, where you put the oranges into transport but that section was broken, so the kids were the transport themselves.
First you pick the oranges from the trees.

Then you put the oranges in the carrying container.

Then you carry the oranges to the processing factory.

Put the oranges on the conveyor belt.

Make sure they get all the way to the end.

And start the whole process again as more oranges "grow" on the trees.

Katie's Bed

Katie's bed is like a jungle gym.  The kids love to crawl all over it, peek through the sunroof, and even hang like monkeys.  This is a brief glimpse into the love/hate relationship that goes on in our house.  Sometimes they play together like they are best friends and then the screaming begins.

Florida Trip June 2008

Uncle Chad and his family made a big move to Florida.  We decided we missed them so we made the drive down for a visit.  While we were there we hung out, visited, helped unpack, and just had lots of fun.  It was great for the kids to get to spend some good quality cousin time.  It was great for the adults to have extra hands to help all around.  We left on Sunday after Mommy and Daddy finished school and came back the next Sunday.  It was a long drive but everyone did great.  We were very impressed with how well the kids did.  Now we are back and trying to settle in to a summertime routine, which includes Mommy and Daddy trying to convince the kids it is okay to sleep later than 7:30.  Enjoy the pictures, there are lots!

Sliding

Aunt Dot and Grandma Reid got to come over for dinner the other night. After dinner the kids had to show off their sliding skills for Aunt Dot.
Yes they are daredevils!

Mountain Sports Festival

Uncle Chad was in charge of the Mountain Sports Festival in Asheville this year, so we decided to take an adventure. We ventured to Asheville to see what it was all about. While we were there, Papaw and GramT were also there doing first aid for all the others trying out new sports. Aunt Dottie also showed up with Will and Landon to visit Uncle Chad at work. So it ended up being a good family time for everybody.

GramT is helping Abram and Katie try out Frisbee golf.
Abram tried out the newest tree climbing expeditions
Will tried out rock climbing for the first time.
Katie and Abram enjoy the free music concert. While watching Landon dance and eating a funnel cake.

After a long afternoon everyone was worn out and fighting for a space to rest on Mommy's lap.

Uncle Lukie

This is Mommy's stepbrother who says he doesn't ever want to have kids. The funniest part of that is that Abram loves to be around him. Here we have proof that there might be a slight change of heart, check out the smile on his face.

Kicking Back to Relax

After a long day out, there's nothing better than sitting in your favorite chair with a drink in one hand, a fresh peach in the other and just relaxing. At least that is Abram's view.

Whistle Girl

Katie has discovered how to use Daddy's coaching whistle. The only problem is that sometimes she crams it in her mouth just a little too far.
Nothing deep, nothing profound, just the ongoing travels, trials and adventures of the Fletchers. Check out the bottom to see how fast time is flying for the newest Fletchers.
